The main focus of Frank Lemke's work is to make violins, violas and violoncellos.
With experience and passion, high-quality and individually unique instruments are created for professional musicians, students and ambitious amateurs.
All instruments are unique and are made according to old tradition by hand and from carefully selected materials. The tone wood used is carefully selected and well seasoned.
"In recent times I have been intensively engaged in the making of 7/8 cellos. My ambition is to make soloistic 7/8 cellos which can be considered as a real alternative to 4/4 cellos."
"Therefore I chose the Mastercello „Saveuse“, made in 1726 by Antonio Stradivari, as my model. Its original measurements are identical to the usual 7/8 measurements. Despite its smaller dimensions, this model sounds rich, deep and soloistic and provides a fascinating insight into the mind of Stradivari the innovator."
